---------------------------- WebCam Software Installation ---------------------------- We recommend that you PRINT this page before you go on. 1. First, you need to install the Java Virtual Machine. Go to the address below to get it. http://java.sun.com/getjava/ 2. Open an internet browser window. You need internet Explorer 5.0 or above. 3. You need to add the address below to the list of trusted sites on the Internet Explorer to allow the camera viewer software to be installed from the web site. http://74.164.6.197 - To do that, click on "Tools" > "Options", then on the "Security" tab, then on the "Trusted Sites" icon (it's the one with the checkmark symbol on a green background) - Click on the "Sites" box. - Copy and paste the address above to the "Add this web site to the zone" box. - Uncheck "Require Server Verification" and click on "Add". Then click on OK to close the window. - Now click on the "Custom Level" box. - Scroll down to the category of "ActiveX Controls..." and set all the radio buttons to "Enable" (You can reset them later on to the default values). - Click on "OK" and answer "Yes" to the "Are you sure you want to change the security settings for this zone?" question. - Click on "Apply" and then on "OK". 4. Now go to the cameras web site. Make sure all the ActiveX controls get installed when prompted. - Copy and paste the WebCam address below to your browser window to go to the site, http://74.164.6.197:8340 - You should get a light blue window on a dark blue background screen. - Select "Mpeg4 Encoder Viewer" on the "Compression Selection" Window and click on "Submit". - For the Internet Connection type, select "MODEM" if you use a dial-up connection or "DSL/CABLE/T-1" if you have a fast internet, then select one of the Multi Window options and click on "Submit". - If you chose to view a single window, click on the Play button (the one with the triangle) when the blue screens for the camera(s) show. If you chose to view more than one window, click on the bar that reads "OPTIONS" and click on "Play" on the menu that shows. - Type your User name and password on the following screen. You should now have a live view of the cameras. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Note: To set the security level back to where it was before you installed the software, do the following, - Click on "Tools" > "Options", then on the "Security" tab, then on the "Trusted Sites" icon (it's the one with the checkmark symbol on a green background). - Then click on the "Default Level" box. - Now click on "Apply" and then on "OK".
